Cambridge Makespace: measuring water levels

Cambridge Makespace used OpenIOLabs and our LabBook to help measure water levels in a reservoir which fed plants at regular intervals. Being a community organisation they don’t have a large budget, but they did want to benefit from connected systems for their equipment.

They linked up an inexpensive dip sensor to our IOI which also had an analogue to digital converter. The OpenIOLabs IOI then sent the levels to the OpenIO LabBook, where the results could be interpreted at the team’s convenience.

This cloud-connected system saved the team a lot of time and protected their plants too. It was simple to set up and inexpensive too, but with big results.
